Amaranthus walked through the lush elven land slowly, carefully placing each step as to make as little a disturbance as possible. Her white hair seemed to be radiating from her into the lands, making it easy enough for her to be spotted. As she strode through she was singing a song she had picked up years ago.
Os justi meditabitur sapientiam, Et lingua eius loquetur indicium.
Beatus vir qui suffert tentationem, Quoniqm cum probates fuerit accipient coronam vitae.
Kyrie! ignis divine, elesion
O quam sancta, quam serena quam benigma, quam amoena o castitatis Lilium!
Veren napped peacefully in a small copse of trees in the Elven land of Anmoury. This trip for him was another potential lead to finding a way to free himself from the ghosts. The was a rumor running around back in Avera that there was a small group of necromancers who weren't completely mad. Veren hoped to search out these people and request their aid. But for now, he was tuckered out. A full day of hiking had taken its toll on Veren's frail form. "GROSH SIG MAL VIG'NAL!" A voice roared into his ear as the ogre ghost decided to show himself. Veren jumped up with a start. "Blast it to the nine hells! WHy must you do that when I'm trying to sleep you cursed ogre?" Veren shouted to the ogre. "Verry! The ogre was being mean to me!!!" Sasha whined as she materialized behind him. "Ugh, I'm not in the mood for this today." Veren muttered as he packed his stuff to his pack and got ready to travel on.
As he prepared his things, he noticed, at the edge of his hearing, a sound that most definately didn't belong in the wilderness. "Ooh! That's pretty" Sasha squeeled as she heard it as well. "Is that, singing?" Veren wondered. Veren began traveling in that direction, for in this day and age, and especially this near to the border of the infected lands, it payed to travel in a group. But better safe than sorry, as Veren unsheathed his dagger, just to be safe. As Veren got closer to the sound, he caught sight of pure white hair. Cautiously, Veren walked out in front of the figure, with both hands in the air, his dagger in his hand. "Hail, I am Veren Von Trappington, a traveler, and wizard extroadanaire!"
She stopped her singing and turned toward the voice. She saw the dagger in his hands and the pose. There seemed to be others with him, but they seemed different. She lowered her head and her bangs fell over her head. Her eyes closed for a moment and opened again as she began to pay attention to the new comer.
a couple meters to far. What does he think he is doing.
She took a firm stand incase she had to fight. She kept her mouthshut and waited for the person to keep talking.
As he got a good look at her, he instantly relaxed a bit. This looked like a little girl. "*gasp* Look Verry! It's another girl like me!" Sasha squeeled and rushed over to her. "Sasha! SHe probably can't see you!" Veren called after her. Although, on second thought, this young girl probably wasn't normal, for what normal child would be all alone here near the border, with the host so close? Veren decided to play it safe and casual. "Well hey, are you all alone little girl?" Veren said with his most comforting voice as he slowly approached her.
*by the by, it's cool if you can see the ghosts, not everyone can, so just be aware* *and sorry if it's a bit short*
*short and sweet is fine by me. I won't say I can see them fully more just like outlines, like the predator when he is cloaked in the movies*
She saw something move toward her as the other guy moved in behind it. some sort of trick, diversion? she thought to her self as it happend. She sent out her powers now that the man had moved close enough, grabbing his wrists so he couldn't move them. "Human no?" she asked to him with her innocent voice. "What did you send toward me? Answer quickly or else you may loose some limbs." she said to the man.
She kept an eye on the thing moving toward her, ready to use her powers if it kept getting closer now that she had the other man in her powers grasp.
"What did you send toward me? Answer quickly or else you may loose some limbs." The girl said with a sweet voice as Veren's wrists were suddenly siezed by an invisible force. *damn! that was reckless* Veren thought to himself. Better do what she says, this girl is far more than she appeared to be.
"h-h-uman, yeah. I'm Veren Von Trappington, like I said. That was Sasha, she's a ghost. I'm haunted by ghosts and I can't control them. She's totally harmless!" Veren stammered "Now you let go of me, it's very r-r-ude. I don't want to hurt you.." He thought he should try and build a relationship with this girl. 'That was a pretty song, Sasha really liked it.."
Her grip tightened slightley, and she began lifting him off the ground. "Humans lie and kill. They deserve the same faye they give, why should this be any different for you." she stated to him. "Every human who approaches me is to hunt me and you are different? is that what your going to try and say to me?"
"The song sings about your judgements, the judgement of of all mankind. If you think different state your reasons to live and not become a spirit like these that haunt your steps?" a wind blew by tantalizing her long hair and tickling her skin.
This little girl began lifting Veren up with her powers, and he could feel a growing pressure on his wrists. This was getting out of hand very rapidly and Veren's life was in danger. He decided to give talking one more shot. "I just wandered upon you! I have a responsibility to help these ghosts! Sasha's only eleven years old and she doesn't have anyone to protect her! I have to help them, and I'm warning you for the last time. Let. Go. Of. Me." Veren flicked the dagger in his hand, nicking his finger, starting a small trickle of blood.
I'm eleven! how old are you? the memory spread into her mind rapidly. Come on im not going to hurt you, won't you talk to me at all? The image of the girl a few years back now forced into her head. She fell t o her knee's and began clutching her head over her eyes as the flash back continued. She lost concentration of her powers and the man fell from raised position.
She could see herself looking into the face of that girl as she smiled at her. I'm eight. she answered to the girl, whose face began to glow with a smile. Lets be friends okay little eight year old girl? I have been alone for a long time and I don't want to be alone any more.
Veren fell to the ground with a hard thump. The little girl was on her knees, clutching her head. Apparently, something he had said had a profound effect on her. Veren scrambled up, rushed off a good ten yards, and utilized the blood dripping from his finger to weave a blood magic barrier between himself and the girl. "I mean you no harm! Just let me be on my way and I shall leave you alone as well!" Veren called to the girl, waiting to see if a more forceful tactic was necessary.
