The Rise of The Warlock King
To understand what is happening in the Northland, to understand the drastic changes that are being forced upon the Four Lands, you must take a step back and attempt to understand the creature that leads it all, the creature behind the reigns of the beast. Not much is known of the Warlock King, and even less is known of what he has become. Once a Faerie, he has now become something entirely different, the indulgence of the Dark Magics, the complete disregard for his own safety and the regulations and laws of Magic has transformed him into something else entirely. He once went by the name of Zane, and he had been a Master Creator. His Magic had aided him in the creation process, and he was the mastermind behind the Skilgannon Forest, whether he meant for it to become the chaotic and tainted land mass it would later transform into is still a mystery to many. However, there is one thing everyone does know, he is leading the massing Northland Army, he has been shaping the events of the Four Lands, and soon he will make his move.
To tell you of what has happened we must start at the begining like any great story. The Warlock King has been breeding an army that few can imagine. Gone are the days of flesh against flesh on the battlefield, of when the Races fought beings they could understand. The Warlock King has once again brough the Weres forth from their hiding, their numbers well into the thousands, he has brought the powerful Trolls from the Mountains and outfitted them from head to toe in steel battle armor, they now wield massive pikes, and are capable of executing well drilled military commands. However, not even these heavy troops are the true power of the Warlock King, not the heart of his power lies in his Skull Hunters, the Netherworld Beasts. Creatures created by the Warlock King to serve him in battle. With his army created, he began his game of politics.
The Warlock King is no fool, and he knew that under the leadership of the Majar Family, the Elven Kingdoms would still be strong enough to join with the Dwarves and once again repel the Northland Army. He feared this above all else, feared his army being destroyed before they were ever even battle tested, so how did he deal with this problem? In the dead of night The Warlock King sent in his Skull Hunters, thirteen on them. They flew to the Elven Capital City, and there they infiltrated the Majar Palace under the cover of night. They destroyed the Majar Royal Family in one strike. The King and Queen were murdered, three Skull Hunters were found dead at the Kings feet, however. Every son and daughter were killed, every Aunt, Uncle, and cousin. The Majars were all but destroyed in one night...except for two. The brothers Icarius and Maren, they had been in the Dwarven city of Bazrak-Di. With the abscence of the Sons, the Elven High Council voted to have the Queens Brother be elected to the Throne, and to this day he still rules.
So what was the importance of this attack? It served two purposes. The first was obvious, the Elven people were terrifide to be alone at night, they feared Skull Hunters around every corner, and they had doubt in their own army to protect them from invaders. However, that was not the main reason for the Warlock King's attack, no the true reason is one far deeper. Since the begining of the line of Elven Kings, the Majar had been there, proud, fierce, and noble. Fire was said to pump through their veins, and The Warlock King knew that the second a Majar heard of his intentions an Elven Army would be raised against him and sent out on the march, however, the new King was a coward and wanted only to hide in his Palace, just what the Warlock King wanted. However, he didn't know that Icarius Majar walked the Four Lands, a future enemy.
As if this were not enough to display his power the Warlock King attacked the second largest threat to him, and oddly enough it resided in the Southland. Ever since the Race Wars no one had thought of the Humans as a threat, that had been saved from conquest and enslavement by the Faeries, and because of that they were thought of as cowards, but they had one thing that also made the rest of the Lands uncomfortable. The Druid Council resided in the Southern Empire, just by the coast of the Bashian Sea. Ever since the creation of the Skilgannon Bog magic had become mistrusted and hated by the Lands and for that the Southland was even more of an outcast for harboring the Druids, but the Warlock King knew that these Druids were the one major threat to him. Why? Simple, he had evolved past a being capable of being killed by sword or spear, and in all honesty he was beyond the death of magic. He was a true enemy, and he could not risk the Druids discovering a way to destroy him.
Departing from the Coastal Port City of Valure an attack force of six hundred Werebeasts were sent out with the purpose of the destruction of the Druid order, no prisoners were to be taken, the order was to be eradicated. The Weres did there job with remarkable, and horrifying effiency. They tore through the sacred Druid Guard and made their way into the massive Skeln Tower, and by their hands the Druids were massacred. Their flesh was feasted upon by the Weres, and only those Druids who had been exploring the Four Lands and thus not in the Tower had survived, in all honesty the number is less the seven. Seven druids remaining.
Thus we find ourselves at the moment the Warlock King has been waiting for. He believes his enemies gone, wiped out. The Majar and the Druids. His armies swell in their numbers preparing to pour from the Northland and subjugate all Four of the Lands, to return dominion of them to the Faerie who rightly deserves them. War is on the horizon, the races know it, they can feel it, yet none trust one another. The Elves and Dwarves have grown apart since the new King has taken to the Throne, neither believe in the Humans, and both are prepared to fight to the death against the North, yet they will not join forces. Destruction is all that waits for them, what can save them and the Four Lands from the crushing grip of the Warlock King...?
