Tonight was an unusual night for the Overmind of Sloth, but then, this whole week had been somewhat odd for her. See, Jinx was not really a people person, she never had been. It had always been too hard to make friends or to have relationships when she never knew when she was going to be passing out again or when she really just could not be bothered to care about anything or anyone around her. But more and more lately, the little Overmind had been finding herself alone and lost within thoughts of what it would be like to kiss somebody, what it would be like to have somebody touch her, or make love to her. Sure, perhaps these were foolish thoughts and desires, but she was a young woman after all and just because she was apathetic and tended to sleep a lot did not mean she was completely without urges and needs like any other girl her age.
True, she had never felt the urge this strongly before. She had never laid in bed during the day, between naps, and wondered in vivid detail about the caress of a man's hand against her flesh...but then she had never had a reason to before. No, she had never met a man who had gotten under her skin, most of them proving to be nothing but morons who were not worth the effort. Even the previous slew of Reavers she had possessed had never truly gotten to her and not once had she questioned what she was missing out on by being the way that she was.
So what had changed? Well the answer to that was quite simple.
Her newest Reaver, sent to her by Satan and the one that truly felt as though he was the one meant for her. He was what had changed within her life to stir these deep seated curiosities within her. Ever since she had met him and he had first brushed his lips against her own, that brief, affectionate, genuine kiss....it had sparked a fire deep down inside of her. That had been the first real kiss she had ever received and even it had not been one that could truly be deemed as passionate. It had been nothing but a brush of his lips against her own and yet somehow it had caused her stomach to knot and her heart to flutter. It had brought her to the realization that she was capable of feeling the very thing she had thought, for so long, that she was incapable of feeling.
Now, after weeks of being bound to him and having fallen asleep in his arms with his fingers brushing through her hair and that song hummed to her as he lulled her into sleep....sleep which felt so peaceful and safe....she had begun to question this feeling inside. Of course, she never mentioned it to him. She couldn't. Perhaps there had been a time when she had wanted to and when she had planned to, but his confession of his love for another woman had quickly silenced her. Now she wouldn't dare speak of her inner most desires. She couldn't. It had been hurtful enough to have him inform her that he loved another...all but eliminating any chance of their relationship growing beyond the usual Overmind/ Reaver bond. At least in her mind that is what had happened.
So now, she was trapped inside of her own mind and her 'home' with her thoughts. She was left to lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling during those moments when she couldn't fall asleep normally without that familiar hand brushing through her hair or that song that only he could hum to her filling the air as she laid her head against his chest and listened to the sound of his breathing and the beat of his heart....Only recently having become aware of just how much of an impact Mercer's appearance in her life had had on her and her usual state of being.
Alone in bed, her fingers brushing against her stomach or her thigh, debating on if she should attempt anything on her own and always opting not to simply due to the amount of energy it would require. But even that had become harder and harder to use as an excuse and ultimately, that had been what led her to where she was now. Or at least, it was what had led her to the bar that night just a little over a week ago, venturing into unfamiliar and down right dangerous territory for somebody such as herself...It was what had led her to....him.
"Jinx? Babe?" That voice drawing her back from her thoughts as she felt that hand on her shoulder, jostling her softly. Eric apparently thought she had fallen asleep again and to be honest, she very well might have. Sometimes she dozed off and woke up so fast that her thoughts didn't really have time to stop. They just kept right on going until she woke up to make them stop.
Blinking as she sat up on that couch, she would force a little smile on her lips as she shook her head "Sorry, I musta zoned out." She gave a somewhat nervous laugh, looking into those increasingly familiar blue green eyes of his. She had met him at the bar a little over a week ago and though she had been uncertain at first as to whether or not she should attempt to spend time with him, to build a relationship with him...he had proven in the past week to be a pretty great guy.
He was an Overmind, his primary sin being Greed and though he was somewhat of a show off, he had proven nothing but attentive and considerate of her and her condition. The very thing she had been sure would send him running had been one of the first things he had said he found interesting about her. She was apparently one of the more unique Overminds of Sloth that he had met in his five years on Earth and he had instantly become attracted to her because of it.
Now, Jinx was no fool. She understood that it was likely his greedy nature viewing her as some kind of prize he could capture that nobody else could have...and though she should have cared, she just couldn't be bothered to. It didn't really matter in the end. She was in this for one thing and she didn't really need him to like her in a manner that was of genuine emotion and affection. As lonely as she was, as much as she told herself that she wanted to have something like that, more so now than ever seeing as how Mercer had gone and found such a thing...she just couldn't bring herself to want it from Eric.
Why? Well, if she had to be perfectly honest with herself, it would be because she didn't want to accidentally start to care for somebody only to get hurt again...she had done it once and that was more than enough. The sting of learning she was not good enough for her own Reaver to love still something that weighed down on her greatly. Even if she wouldn't admit it. Eric's fingers brushing a bit of her wavy, reddish brown locks back behind her ear, that crooked little smile curled upon his lips.
"Its alright." He nodded, thumb stroking her cheek softly. As he did this, a soft shudder would race down her spine, biting her lower lip as those unfamiliar sensations began to envelop her. Picking up on them, Eric would lean in, his hand cupping her cheek as he pulled her face toward him. She had been expecting this for awhile, but now that it was here, she had to admit she was nervous. Her heart beating so hard that she could barely hear his words over the sound of it thundering within her ears.
Her little hands shaking, she gripped the fabric of the pants which she wore. She had been asleep when Eric had shown up, but the truth was, Jinx was kind of lazy and often forgot to take her clothes off and change before bed...Not that it really mattered...At least not right now. "Eric, I..." She went to speak only to be cut off as his lips pressed firmly against her own. A gasp, feeling a jolt of pleasure rush through her. It was something she had never experienced before and as he worked to deepen that kiss, his hand wrapping around the back of her head and pulling her in, she would feel that pleasure only begin to intensify.
For a moment, she debated on if she should..if this was right...only to realize that the doubt she felt stemmed from thoughts of Mercer and what he would think of her actions. Thoughts that were quickly banished away as she reminded herself that he had a love in his life and that her actions held no consequence to him. He didn't care. He only cared that she was safe and right now...she was.
That last bit of restraint tossed into the wind, she would relax into that kiss and into the other Overmind's embrace...her heart racing as he slid his other arm around her waist and pulled her in tighter. It was so intoxicating, to feel a man's touch like this...to finally understand what it was that was so alluring about it. Yet even as he pulled her into his lap, causing her to part her legs in order to straddle his lap, she couldn't help but feel that something was off.
Naturally, she had no clue what it was that was so off about this moment, and since she had never felt anything like this before, she simply chalked it up to her being unfamiliar with what was happening or what was about to take place. Still, despite her slight unease, she did nothing to protest his actions, merely tensing up slightly as his hand moved from about her waist and instead gripped her pert little ass firmly...yet never rough. No, he wasn't being violent, he was simply being passionate...or so she assumed, knowing that he had learned early on that Jinx was not one to tolerate pain as easily as most people. Unlike the rest of their kind, she was no some pain addict who needed it or could handle ungodly amounts. She was actually quite sensitive to it instead. A sense of happiness coming over her as she realized that even now he was being considerate of that fact.
So much so, that in the next moment she would release a soft moan against his lips as she tilted her head and took a page from his book, deepening the kiss as her hand slid to the back of his head, pulling him into her. It was the first time she had ever even thought of doing something like this, and though she was worried she might have one of her episodes during, Eric had assured her several times, that should that happen, it would be alright...he wouldn't be mad. No, she supposed it was just time to figure out if he had been lying or not.
Yet even now, as she was made to feel something she had never felt before and as she was experiencing more intense pleasure than she ever knew possible...she could not completely banish thoughts of her Reaver from her mind. A soft moan muffled against Eric's lips only to have it end with the slightest hint of a whimper. A whimper she could not quite place. Was it fear? Was it uncertainty? Or maybe it was the fact that this was not what she had wanted...or more to the point, who she had wanted this moment to be with? To be honest...she just didn't know.
