Deryk raised his hands and Holly took a step back, her smile faded and she took shelter next to his leg at the open hostility.
"Protect me, Deryk, that's what Reaver's do, right? Or did Father lie to me too?" She whimpered. Deryk stayed silent, how the fuck was he meant to explain this little thing to them? He could see on their faces that they just wanted to kill him and her.
"Look, we don't mean to cause any harm to either of you. Well, at least I don't. I only met her about ten minutes ago and apparently I belong to her now." Deryk blurted, if there was one thing he liked about being attached to this little girl was that his mind was considerably clearer now, as if a lead blanket had been lifted from his mind. His thoughts raced back to his earlier behaviour.
Deryk lifted Holly up by the back of the neck as if she was a kitten, and placed her behind him, he didn't know what this guy could do but the way he was aiming his arm at them suggested that he could do something dangerous. "Look, I'm sorry if I came off as threatening before, I haven't had a whole lot of uh, social contact in the last five years besides hunting down humans. Hell, I only even met the first Reaver besides myself a month ago." Deryk didn't know why he was telling them this, they probably didn't care, he just didn't want the other Reaver to do whatever he was going to do with his arm because it looked bad, and every instinct told him to get Holly out of danger.

Envy would have found her Reaver to be at the peak of his manly, sexy, I wanna fuck you vibes when he came around that corner had it not been for the fact that she now stood face to face with not only a crazy ass Reaver but is disgusting and vile Overmind. The sight of the thing causing her stomach to turn immeasurably so as she took another much needed step back. Did she see the thing cower against his leg? Hear the pleas for protection? Of course! She was not an idiot and knew to pay attention to everything going on around her. Did she care? Not one damn bit.
The logic of the situation was flawed, far beyond anything a rational mind such as herself (rational being used very loosely here, I might add) could comprehend. The view of the pair soon blocked out by the large, six foot three inch tall Reaver placing himself between her and the threat which had so suddenly throw itself upon her. If she wasn't so overcome with paranoia right then she would have been proud of him, but sadly...that would not be the case.
Instead, she stepped closer, her hand smoothing over the lower portion of his back, through the soaking wet t-shirt that he wore. Why? Well for one, she liked to touch him. But the more important factor was that it calmed him. Something that, in this situation, was not so much for her benefit other than to grant her enough time to figure out what she wanted to do with the pair of them. Her mind already working over a few possibilities even before the other Reaver opened his mouth to try and..."explain" the situation.
Of course, everything that came out of his mouth was both logical and preposterous at the same time. Could the mutant child have just appeared out of nowhere? Well she supposed seeing as how she had done just that. But even still, to be born right before your own Reaver? That was a bit..odd. Even for Father. Her mind hinging upon that single fact before realizing that there was nothing really out of Father's reach when he put his mind to it. He truly was a dastardly being and one that she aspired to be like as she grew...er...aged...Yeah, aged. All her evil little deeds modeled after what she felt her Father would be proud of. So far, so good.
But back to the matter at hand. Assuming that Father had spawned a putrid little ball of giggling flesh just then for the sake of fucking with this Reaver, that still did not explain the complete about face that he had just gone through. Ten minutes prior he was running in fear of her, screaming and acting like a wild, stupid monkey of some sort. (She read about those once.) He had even crashed through a pane of glass to try and escape her.
Yet now...noooow here he was, standing there as calm and collected as her Gavin tended to be. Hell, he was even speaking in slow, proper sentences. Clearly something had happened to tame such a wild Reaver in the span of a few minutes. But what? Reavers become pussies overnight did they? Her slender form sliding alongside that of her own Reaver, casting a glance up to him.
Nope. They did not. He was living proof of that and in her mind...well all Reavers should try to be more like her own. But then, she was bias. Either way....that was not the possible reason and so she abandoned that path of logic and picked up a new one. What was another reason that a Reaver would suddenly cease with his wild and rather violent ways, becoming a calm, polite and even somewhat gentle person? Think. Think. Think. Where had she seen this before? She knew she had, she was just having a hard time placing it in this moment as her fingers lightly twisted within Gavin's shirt.
Then it hit her, like a sack of bricks. She had seen this before! Those blue eyes growing wide with realization, her little form rocking upon her heels as she became just a tad bit excited with having figured it out. It wasn't like she was able to figure out such human concepts on her own without a little nudge here and there from Gavin. In fact, she was damn proud of herself for having figured it out all on her own. Clearly, if what the Reaver spoke was the truth, then that meant that something had to have happened to completely change his view of things between meeting her and seeing his Overmind...
That was what it had been with Gavin and her right? He had walked into the room and instantly he had fallen head over heels in love with her. The wild, unruly Reaver who prided himself in breaking the rules of his Mistress now tamed before her, her's to command and willing to do anything to please her. Calm, polite and without a hint of malice toward her. That, had to be what had happened here! Clearly, this Reaver had laid eyes upon his Overmind and fallen in love and now....he was tame.
A slight bite given to her lower lip as she pulled her hand around from her beloved Reaver's back and softly wrapped her little hand about his arm, tugging on him softly as to force him to bend down enough that she could speak without really having to strain too much. "I have figured it out love." She purred in that soft, sultry Australian accent, fingers caressing his arm as those wet pink locks fell over her face and stuck to her cheek and neck as well as down her shoulders and spine.
"Remember that thing you taught me? When you were explaining those small mutant things to me? When I asked you if they were like me in every way?" Yup. She was going there and there was not a person alive, including the big strong Reaver before her that could stop her. Once Envy set her mind on something, it was pretty much a done deal. Her train of logic would not be derailed at this juncture and so it was one of those strap yourself in and hope for the best type of situations. Something Gavin, sadly, knew all too well.
"Then you told me that there were only these really weird, sick people...like the really low of the low...at least by human standards apparently, that would find themselves attracted to the tiny beasts? What were they called again?" Her little brow furrowed as she tried to recall the word, but seeing as how she had only been told it once in a conversation that had been highly clouded with her mental and verbal debate with Gavin over the safety of being around these mutant midgets, it was safe to say that she would have to work for it. She would get it eventually though, tugging on his arm a bit as she did. "Pedophile! Right!? That is what he is! "
That smile lit up her face, and..well, if Gavin knew her then he knew damn well how she had come to that conclusion. One of the perks of being with somebody intimately for so long, you got to know them inside and out and though she had to admit that sometimes she was a bit hard to keep up with, he did quite a good job. Far better than anyone else ever could. "He saw her and he fell in love, just like us!" She purred pressing her cheek against the rather large bicep of her Reaver, snuggling into him for a moment before pulling away, a questioning...puzzled look in her eyes.
Given the context of what was going on, one could only assume that whatever question plagued her mind...was not good. But this was the part of the ride where you were instructed to keep your hands and feet inside of the cart at all times lest you lose a limb or some shit. "But I don't get it..." She spun around, facing the pair before them once more, tilting her head as blue eyes shifted from the Reaver...to the Overmind and back again. The confusion mounting as she bit her lower lip, releasing Gavin completely and taking a step forward. The heavy fall of footsteps behind her telling her that he had moved with her.
"How do they...." She pursed her lips, little hands coming to rest upon her hips as she looked back at the Reaver in front of her..."How do you..." She looked down to the small thing, her left hand leaving her hip and hand raising so that fingers could softly tap against her chin. "Well I suppose that the small thing is the right height for oral....Though I am forced to question the size of her mouth." She nodded, still very much trying to work out the problem inside of her mind.
For now...she was distracted, which despite the fact that she may have been creating a lot of uncomfortable moments, was a good thing. It was when she became focused that one really had to worry, especially anything she saw as beneath her or as some kind of monster or mutant or anything like that. No, however anyone else might have felt about this moment, this was probably the best place to be at with the little bubblegum haired Kakai of Envy. Because...well, everyone knows what happens when Envy becomes focused....she becomes envious and then, not even Hell itself could stop her from getting whatever it was she wanted.

The reaver raised his hands in surrender, well, at least to show that he was not a threat. A sign of submission, this was a good thing, Gavin enjoyed this from his would be victims. Though all things be told he wasn't sure that this was a genuine sign of submission or surrender. Nor was he sure that the fear that the child overmind was showing was real. Sure she was beginning to cower and hide behind the reaver, not too dissimilar from Envy minus the fear, but Gavin didn't buy it. Not yet at least, nor was there any certainty that he would ever buy it. Paranoid? Yes, but he had seen this as an act enough times to be suspicious, had participated in it a few times as well, even though it left a general distaste in his mouth on occasions, preferring to be up front.
So as the reaver tried to explain the situation, Gavin would listen, suspicion not leaving his eyes and the story remained preposterous, as well as the eloquent words. While he still suspected trap, there was no certainty that they'd would walk away even if he believed them. While yes, that was a possibility because of Envy's contempt and hatred of the child overmind, that was more of a reference to him. See, Gavin was generally the more rational one of the two, but that wasn't to say that he wasn't a mean son of a bitch. There was a very good chance that he'd kill the both of them, if allowed, simply because they fucked up his "playtime". That is of course if Envy did order him to anyway.
As the reaver finished talking Gavin tensed the arm pointed at his head, really wanted to just kill him right her and now and spank that pink haired overmind, murderous intent oozing off of him. Hell, he was going to do it, this was just bullshit, until.... he felt that small hand pressing flatly against his back. As always, Gavin relaxed a bit, tension slipping from his muscles as he let out a slow exhale, pressing back a little bit into that touch. He was still completely aware of what was going on, and ready to react instantly, but that desire to murder them outright was fading. Her finger twisting slowly in his shirt it wasn't difficult to figure out that she was pondering about something. About whom? That was easy, what exactly? that was a little more difficult.
And then it hit her. Her realization so very apparent to him, almost as if he were gasping in realization with her. Her emotions a little more evident to him through that bond as of late, as if it were getting stronger. Times like these he found himself grateful for, in....certain ways. For example at least this time he knew that whatever thought was in her head, he wasn't getting out. Something that concerned him in the sense that was was already beginning to tighten his seatbelt, knowing that whatever it was, it was going to be a doozy.
Her arm slipping from his back, he felt those fingers curling around his arm. Tugging on him softly he'd bend over to lean down her her as she announced that she had figured it out. That accent as she purred in his ear drawing a little sigh, momentarily distracting him from wondering, what exactly she had figured out. A smile curling on his lips at the feel of those fingers brushing against his arm, steal a glance at her to see those pink tresses matted to her cheeks from the rain, unable to ever deny how beautiful she was, but now he couldn't help but notice how cute the rain made her.
Though once more he was brought back to wondering just what exactly she thought she knew when she brought up asking if children were like her in every way. Already bracing himself for her claim as he knew that it was going to be absurd, just as much as he knew that there was no way he was ever going to stop her from completing this line of reasoning. Hell, changing it was likely impossible so he doubted he'd even try, just, try and minimize any decisions she made because of it.
As she began to speak Gavin found himself filling with disbelief. She couldn't really be going this direction could she? Well, yes, yes she could. Gavin knew the truth. He knew that her logic at times was often very much the opposite of that. He had known her long enough to know that she was very smart, and she could learn a lot about humans, but despite her looks, she was very far from one, and her grasp on them and how they thought, well, it would only ever carry her so far. Still though, as she puzzled her way through finding the word that she was looking for Gavin couldn't help but think 'oh boy' at this one.
And then she said it, he knew it was coming, KNEW it was coming, and all the same.... He couldn't help but face palm, head shaking slightly at the thought. He could feel how proud of herself she was and he could tell that she wouldn't be dissuaded from this belief. All the same though, Pedophile? Really? That was the explanation for his behavior, that drastic one eighty? Don't get him wrong Gavin hated pedophiles. They were one of the few types of people that Gavin considered himself morally superior to, but for all of the flaws of the reaver in front of him, being a pedophile was not one of them. Gavin knew, knew, KNEW that he shouldn't be surprised by this, but as always the outlandishness of her conclusions surprised him, though perhaps it was because each on seemed more insane then the last.
All the same though....He knew how she had come to that conclusion. Knowing how her line of thinking worked well enough at this point to follow it and figure it out as she said it. Face in his palm, head shaking slightly as she did. This was wrong on so, so many levels, but unlike the reaver before him, Gavin knew that it was only going to get worse, much much worse. As she nuzzled her cheek against his bicep, snuggling into him he couldn't help but lean into her, sighing softly, that hand dropping from his face. As crazy as her logic could get some times, there was no mistaking it, he did love her, more then anything else, and he would die to defend her if necessary.
As she pulled away, giving him that questioning look he knew it was just on the verge of getting worse, so, so much worse. Knowing what she did about love he had a pretty good idea of where this was going to go, but he hoped, just hoped that maybe, maybe for once was was wrong and....
"But I don't get it..."
"Oh god..." That face was back in his hand as nope was the answer to that hope.
Eyes shifting to her as her hands went to her hips, trying to figure out whatever problem she was trying to sort out. All Gavin was left to do was wait for her to puzzle it out, knowing that as long as she wasn't in any immediate danger, there was nothing he could do at this point really. He would just have to let it run it's course, even if he was finding himself somewhat disgusted at the prospect. Head beginning to shake as she began to discuss the actual mechanics of the deed that Gavin was trying so hard to divorce from his mind.
Though, sadly, he knew that it could be worse, much worse. Because she was distracted and therefore not making any real plans to kill or maim the pair in front of her for any of the plethora of reasons available to her. Reasons which could range from logical to the downright outlandish, and really, whichever one it was Gavin would assist her in doing so. For now though, the pair should really consider themselves lucky as Gavin was actually disgusted to the point of having forgotten about his desire to murder them....for the moment...

Deryk's mouth fell open at the pink-haired woman's conclusion, he knew for sure that she was not right.
"What the fuck?" He roared in complete disbelief. The little girl that clamped onto his leg was most certainly not a point of sexual interest for Deryk.
"This," He pointed to Holly, "is no case of love, especially not of that kind!" He looked down at the tiny creature that had begun to crawl up his back, tugging on his jacket on her way up.
"So you don't love me?" Holly whimpered in his ear, she had managed to clamber up his large frame and now had her skinny arms wrapped around his neck. Deryk faltered, no, he didn't love her, he just felt some hellish need to protect her. He didn't answer.
"Answer me!" She shrieked, Deryk's ear smarted.
"No, I don't, not in the way that she's suggesting." Deryk growled back at her. The other Reaver seemed to disagree with the small woman, as he shook his head.
"You've come to the wrong conclusion, miss," He told her, trying to stay polite as the disbelief and shock boiled behind his eyes, "I would never have any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with a child." Holly's arms tightened around his neck, as if she was offended. Clearly she had no idea what they were talking about.

She was proud of herself, but unlike the Reaver beside her, the one in front of her had no idea that he should probably not tell her she was wrong. It was just easier to ignore her and accept that you knew the truth than to ever try and change the Kakai of Envy's mind when she was this set on something. So, needless to say, she was not happy when the long haired baboon decided to open his mouth and reply to her.
FIrst off he had yelled, speaking to her with that tone which sent her back a few steps, fingers curling abou Gavin's back to softly caress the lower portion of his spine. He didn't much like it when people yelled at her, and though she wasn't always sure if he would attack or not, it was safe to assume that most of the time the answer was "yes"....he would. A soft little brush of her fingers though, that was all it usually took to keep him still and to keep him from ripping a person's throat out when she was not quite ready to do so.
But then, if that had not been bad enough, he turned around and told her she was wrong. Sure, it was polite enough, but that didn't change the general idea of what he was saying. No matter how you put it, wrong was wrong, and a growl would slowly form within the back of her throat as fingers curled tightly within the back of Gavin's t-shirt. "I don't think I am, so that is all that really matters now, isn't it?" She spoke in a curt, no nonsense type tone, clearly coming to the conclusion that the carefree and somewhat playful version of herself would just not do right now.
Of course, that wasn't a good thing. It meant that the sinner of envy, the Overmind who had lied, cheated, maimed, slaughtered and stolen her way to the position of Kakai was coming forth and that usually did not bode well for others. Especially when said others had already shown a habit of pissing her the fuck off. "However..." She began, pulling her hand away from Gavin as her shoulders straightened and she paced forward, each step slow and methodical, a sign to the Reaver now behind her that she was no longer in the mood to play with this one.
"Let us assume that I am wrong as you so put it. Then whatever am I to think of your sudden about face in the span of a mere ten minutes after running from both myself and my Reaver?" She arched her slender brow, tongue gliding across her lips as she eyed both the Reaver and the little mutant thing clinging to his leg and whining like a cat in heat. "If I had to guess, it would be to assume that you lied when you behaved as though you were fearful of Overminds with no clue as to what we are. I would guess that this thing put you up to it in an attempt to lower my guard and perhaps attack me when I was least expecting it. A trap. Yes..that would be what I would assume."
She stopped, her hip jutting out slightly as she folded her arms over her chest. She was no longer looking at them as a source of curiosity but rather, she her sin was starting to take hold, eyes drifting over each as she tried to pick apart their belongings and figure out just what she wanted...from each. "Though to be honest, I am far more inclined to believe that you have a romantic attachment to this creature. It makes more sense, and your incredulous behavior would only suggest that you are ashamed of such attachments. But then, that is logical I suppose. I would not want to admit to being attracted to something so underdeveloped and whiny." Her tone level and proper as ever, her eyes locking upon those of the Reaver as she felt her own standing directly behind her now.
"Gavin? Love? I cannot decide what I want. Would you be a dear and choose for me?" She purred softly, referring to the Reaver in front of her as her little nod would indicate. She had an idea formulating for the mutant child, she just was not entirely sure she wished to go to that much trouble just yet. Still, she would have time to figure that out while Gavin had his fun deciding she supposed.

Was Envy wrong? Absolutely. The guy just didn't give off the vibes of a pedophile. The offense at the suggestion clear in his eyes, Gavin knew that if he was accused of such a thing he would be offended too. Gavin would give the reaver that. However, what he would not give was the reaver a free pass to not only be rude to his Envy, but to raise his voice to her. Both things were a death sentence to anyone that broke either of those, though admittedly the latter was a worse offense. Raising your voice to his lover was a threat and those always had been and would always continue to be dealt with extreme and immediate prejudice. That action drawing an immediate growl from Gavin, shoulder tensing to lift his right arm to fire.
Though before Gavin complete his aggressive gesture those soft little fingers would curl about his shirt, feeling them caress his back. The effect was immediate, calming him, drawing a relaxed, if still a little tense, sigh with his shoulder relaxing and his arm dangling at his side once more. Oh, that didn't mean that the reaver and his overmind were safe, no Gavin had every intention of finishing the job that he had started, the look in his eye was very clear about that, though he would wait until Envy had her say to do so, or got whatever she desired. Even if he had to come back to hunt the reaver and his overmind down there was no question that he would do so. When it came to his Envy's safety it was always better safe then sorry.
Though with the reaver's words to his overmind Gavin suspected that he wouldn't have to come back to hunt them down to complete his self appointed task. Gavin knew how much she disliked to be told that she was wrong, especially by anyone that wasn't him, and even at time his corrections were not accepted or heeded. No, there were times when it was just best to pick your battles and time when it was just best to walk away, this was the later, even for Gavin. So for Envy, who already had a disposition that was against children, it was a death sentence. Those words words and that tone that rolled from her lips a confirmation of this.
As she broke apart from Him, Gavin would tense slightly as she walked in front of him. Ready to attack at any second, either on her command or in defense of her. Desire to kill both out of duty and a desire just to kill the two that were currently fucking up his night. Gavin would listen to her every word, even as she proposed her alternative to her being wrong. He would not deny the logic in her proposition, the one that he would be more apt to believe then any other, simply because what rock would this guy have to be under for five years not to know about overminds as a reaver? Nobody could be that stupid right? Could have that much of a turn around?
Moving forward Gavin would make sure that if he did have to attack or difend her that he could shover his overmind behind him if need be. Anything to defend her, continuing to listen to her words as he did so. Logic coming forth from her lips, as misguided as it might be, still held a sense to it.
As she spoke he knew instantly what she meant, having known her well enough that she was decide on her own what she wanted from the child. That with this new opportunity in front of her she wanted the freedom to explore and discover this child overmind on her own. To come up with her own conclusions and desired from it as she examined it, in several pieces no doubt. So Gavin moved to look the reaver over again, decided what it was that she would take from the reaver, knowing that she needed something, even if it was small, her sin simply demanded it. Pondering thoughtfully, "All things considered, that leather jacket doesn't look too bad despite who's wearing it love."

Deryk stiffened, he'd got himself in the face of a fucking shitstorm here, the other Reaver, of the same height as Deryk, could clearly do something with his arm that probably wouldn't end well for either the young girl or Deryk. The comment about his jacket, and him, made him uneasy, but he said nothing of it.
"Look, miss, I can't explain why I've had this turnaround, and I know I was being irrational but you are genuinely the first Overmind I have ever met or heard of and I swear upon my own Reaver powers that I am telling you the truth. I don't know why Satan didn't tell me about you lot, and I don't know why he stuck me with her," he gestured to Holly, who clung to his leg in more fear of the other Overmind than the other Reaver, "all I know is that my mind has been so much clearer since this came along." He gestured again to Holly and gulped. He was keeping his voice as calm as he could but he was trembling with a mixture of emotions -a building rage at being accused of fucking the little girl by his leg, and an equally growing fear of this guy being able to do something ridiculously dangerous.
"I didn't lie to you." He repeated.
He'd fight them if he needed to but they were clearly very powerful, the way they held themselves, the way they looked at him, that feeling he was getting from the Reaver that they were similar only he was much stronger. Although there was a growing suspicion that the pink-haired woman would go straight for Holly while Deryk and the man fought, so protecting the little girl would be insanely difficult.
Holly whimpered as she clung to her Reaver's leg, he was trying to protect her, she could see that. She knew he hated her from the moment they'd been forced into their bond, ten minutes ago, he wouldn't show it, but he did. He had to love her.
In her fear she had called every Lesser in the vicinity to form a circle, and slowly they'd come shuffling out of alleyways, from down 4th Street, and from out of office buildings, to form a wall of undead flesh around the two pairs. She ordered them to attack the pink-haired Overmind and her Reaver, but the Lessers didn't do anything, just stood and stared dumbly at the scene.
Of course, Lessers don't attack Overminds or Reavers under any circumstances, so instead they just formed a dense circle. This wasn't a wise choice, because in case they needed to escape, Deryk would have to run through them. Holly wasn't aware of this, she was just afraid, and the presence of the Lessers was oddly comforting for the little Overmind of Greed. That, and she wanted to take them with her after this.

Her sin showed within her eyes, the blue taking on a darker color now as black swirls began to surface. More and more, her sin had manifested itself in such a way, sucking the happy, carefree nature out of the air and replacing it with the darkness that loomed inside of her. A darkness placed there by her Father. It was an oppressive force when it was released and on more than one occasion it had been enough to send the large, dominant Reaver behind her to his knees in fear as he pleaded with her to show mercy and to forgive him whatever transgression he had committed to earn her wrath.
What brought it about this time? Being told she was wrong and then seeing a dense circle of Lessers begin to surround them. It was not possible for the things to be used against her, that much she knew, but for a woman who did not comprehend the mindset of a child, she took this as an obvious threat to her and her Reaver's well being and as the Kaka of Envy, she absolutely refused to just let it slide.
As Gavin spoke, Envy would reach up, little fingers slowly starting to unfasten that coat that was wrapped so snuggly about her little body. Untying the belt around her waist, she then slipped the coat off, allowing it to fall to one hand and then tossing it aside. She had worn it, and that was about all the use she would get out of it. Well, all the use she wanted anyway. Her tongue tracing over her lips as pink locks cascaded down along her spine, darker now due to the rain that soaked through them.
She wore just her corset and the skirt she had left the house in, that wire in her hand, having been snatched off of her coat at the last instant, being slowly wound about her waist and fastened into place. "The jacket? Very well. I seem to have need of one at the moment." She nodded, a simple gesture and yet she was truly giving her consent to her Reaver to do what he deemed necessary to get that jacket for her. In other words...Gav was free to do as he pleased in pursuit of said item.
Blue and black eyes turning now to the child, she would grin. "You think that you can threaten me little one?" She took a step forward, her tone lacking any amusement...just that dark, sadistic edge lacing her every word. "I am Phthonus, Kakai of Envy...even someone as small and pathetic as you knows what that means. Father would not have created you otherwise." She gave a soft little chuckle, fingers tracing along that piano wire slowly....carefully.
"Gavin, I have decided what I want. I feel that I need new strings for my violin and I have found the perfect subject to obtain them from." She nodded, eyes shooting toward the Lessers and forcing them to herd together behind the Reaver and his Overmind, making the wall he would have to go through that much thicker. "Nobody threatens me or my Reaver and then proceeds to stand before me and insult me. Well, not if they wish to walk away unharmed." A little smirk before she gave a slight tilt of her head toward them, arms folding over her chest as she spoke in a soft, calm tone to her Gavin. "Have fun, love."

Gavin really didn't care what the reaver said or was saying. None of it made any difference to him. All he really wanted to do was get that jacket from him and kill the both of them in rather horrible and painful ways, his intent to do such not lost on the look on his face or in the aura that he presented. Gavin was done hearing the reaver's excuses, his attempts to prove that he as not tricking them. It was pathetic really. Gavin's difficulty to believe that he was that moronic making him believe that the reaver's attempts were just pathetic attempts to grovel and beg for forgiveness without admitting fault. As if they were caught in a lie, realizing now that they were in too far over their head and now they were just coming up with anything to save their asses.
The feel of that aura wasn't limited to just him though, Gavin felt Envy's evil rising within her. The feel of the blackness in her heart sent a tingle down his spine. This time that darkness wasn't directed at him but all the same he couldn't help but shudder, those few times where it had been directed at him, clear in his mind. There was no mistaking it, even with her stature, there were few more intimidating then her when she got this way, and even Gavin would wager that saying few, was just a way of being humble.
Feeling her threatened slightly, only increasing her anger caused Gavin to growl and tense a bit more, knowing exactly what it was that made her feel so. Knowing that it was those lessers that began to circle around all of them. Now, Gavin could honestly say he wasn't sure what they were for, knowing that they couldn't attack them in mass, but it didn't make sense to him as they weren't really being used to cut them off either. But the gesture wasn't lost on Gavin, sealing their fate in his mind all the more. No one threatened his Envy, as useless as a threat as it was, and lived.
As she tossed her jacket aside Gavin would release a dark chuckle from her lips, knowing before she had even said it that the jacket was what she wanted. He knew that she didn't keep many of her clothing items very long. She wore them once, MAYBE twice, before tossing them out and it wasn't exactly uncommon for her to destroy the item in some manner as a way of stating that she wanted a new one as was the case now. Grinning as her words gave him permission from her do do whatever it was he saw fit to get that jacket. Though at this moment, he would have done whatever he pleased anyway.
Chuckling as she grasped that wire, knowing that she wanted to get in on the action, very well knowing who it was that she was after because it was certainly not the reaver. Loving that sadism that edged her voice as she addressed the child overmind, letting out a little chuckle as she told him that she wanted new strings for her violin, knowing very well who she intended to use to do so, "I can't wait to hear how it sounds."
Licking his lips as she made mention of no one threatening her or her reaver Gavin was already chomping at the bit, too ready to go and attack. Wanting, no needing to feel that blood to spatter against him. Grinning as those lessers pooled behind the other two, blocking their means of escape. Growing almost impatient as she released him, to the point that the moment she told him to have fun Gavin had already lifted his right arm to shoot a bone shard from his wrist at that overmind, growling in excitement to show this pathetic reaver just how to really use the ability that he had, to show him how inferior his version was to Gavin's...

Something was wrong. Very wrong. The short, pink-haired woman looked more threatening than she ought to, but as Deryk's eyes quickly flicked over her form, he found her to be insanely attractive. Despite the danger she posed.
"Holly, for fuck's sake lose the Lessers," Deryk muttered to the little girl who had clamped onto his leg, before raising his voice again to the pair ahead of them, "she's just scared, we're not here to threaten you or insult you, it's all a misunderstanding." He tried to calm the situation down, but it didn't seem to be working.
Fuck it. Deryk thought to himself, he mentally prepared himself for a fight to stop the pink-haired lady from doing whatever it was she wanted to do. He loathed to be part with his jacket but every instinct told him to just do it.
His muscular arms slipped out of the sleeves and he held the jacket out towards his aggressors. Anger and hatred swelled up inside him but he kept his cool. Had Holly been somewhere safe he probably would be brawling with this Reaver already. No matter how dangerous he was.
"Here," he growled, "just have it."
Holly was terrified, the Kakai of Envy? How had her stupid Reaver managed to piss her off? Stupid, stupid Deryk. The Lessers began to drift off, Deryk seemed to have more understanding of the situation, despite his inferior mind.
She wasn't ready to die, but nor did she want to fight back, Deryk looked to be trying to cool the situation down, a bizarre display of reason for such a feral Reaver. Surely this offering wouldn't work, Holly didn't even have any violin strings and Deryk sure as hell didn't.
"Deryk I want to go now," she whimpered, and Deryk's leg shifted as he took a step back.
"I'm not sure that's an option right now, Holly." He murmured, still holding the jacket out towards the other two.
This was crazy. Surely it would never work.
Next thing they knew, there was a sharp pain ripping through Deryk's leg and a bone spine clattering to the road behind them. It had missed Holly's head by inches and Deryk shouted in agony.
